The Glassblown Brigade: An independence day poem

Happy Independence Day to all my fellow Indians. This Independence day poem was written a long time ago in response to a prompt about writing a poem inspired by glass blowing. I am sharing a part of the poem here. To read the full poem, join my Buy Me A Coffee.

The Glassblown Brigade: An independence day poem

In the royal durbar

Of the maharani of Hindustan

The vases came alive.

The majestic vases melted and moulded

By the glassblowers of puraani Delhi.

Out of them sprang

The mighty cheetahs

And the triumphant elephants

That marched out

In the most regal fashion

The city had ever seen…
