Have you ever been so happy that you felt that time would never end? In this sort of a love poem, the narrator talks about one such night. Enjoy!
Never ending nights also end sometimes: A love poem
Gazing at the twinkling stars
While lying under the yellow window sill
I think we forgot about the battles we still
Had to fight for our love’s survival.
We held our warm hands together
And shared milk chocolate bars with each other
Until our happy faces were sticky sweet
And we were laughing like teenagers.
The musical lapping of the crashing waves
Was existing somewhere in the isolating haze
But we were lost in the deep emotions
We saw in each other’s pretty eyes and prettier face.
I wish we knew that the enchanting night would end
And could push the hateful sleep that helped us pretend
That we were in a childhood fairytale
In which happily ever after is not an afterthought, but a given.
