A novice poet's magical journey with words

My words are my weapons: A poem about writing

This is a poem inspired from the saying ‘A pen is mightier than the sword’. Hope you enjoy it!

My words are my weapons

I wield my words like a weapon because

Words tell me about the prejudice, the plight and a strike on peaceful nights.

/

I brandish my sentences like a dagger because

I learnt how to find a book in the library before I found out that bedtime demons were real.

/

I shoot using my pen instead of a gun because

After all is shot and done the pen will survive and rise to shape the world.

/

I wield my words like a weapon because

You can take away my weapons but you cannot touch my words.
