Longing for Spring: A seasons poem

Oh Winter! I have already said goodbye to you thrice.

How do I tell you that I am waiting for someone else to arrive?

I want the cherry blossoms of the spring to caress

My face during long walks in the evenings.

I want sunbeams to grace the steps of my house

As I come back home after a day’s work.

I want to give my jackets to the dry cleaners

And then forget about them till next November.

I want to go watch a cricket match live

Without having to wonder about the fog’s incoming on the back home drive.

I want to smell the divine flowers over the mist

When I accidentally stumble into the garden of my neighborhood.

Oh Winter! I long for spring to arrive.

But I would love to see you in nine months’ time.
