Have you ever wondered what magenta tastes like? Well, I have and this poem about colors is my answer.
I wonder what magenta tastes like.
/
Does it burst over the tongue
And leave sweetness in it’s wake
Just like a round fat black grape?
Or maybe it’s salty
Like the cheese cracker I got last night
As a side dish to my saltines.
/
Does it understand the magic
That a chocolate donut with pink,
Red, Yellow, green sprinkles knows?
Or maybe it replicates the magic
Of Indian spices. Ajwain, elaichi,
Kali Mirch etc I don’t know.
/
However, when my sister says magenta tastes
like happiness, contentment, compassion
And harmony, she says it with such authority
That my doubts disappear like the unpegged clothes
On days the northern wind blows.
What magenta tastes like, now I know.
