A novice poet's magical journey with words

Autumn Scented October: An autumn poem

October is finally here and so is the amazing season of autumn with all it’s goodness. What’s your favorite thing about autumn? My favorite thing is nature. The crunchy golden brown leaves, the smell of trees in the air is pure gold. This autumn poem is all about this and more.

Autumn Scented October

The sugary crunch of the candied apples

Warm scent of freshly ground cinnamon

Coming home to sweet apple pie

And that warm pumpkin spiced latte.

/

The sweet crunch of golden leaves

The carpet of never-ending leafy breeze

The horizon of sandy brown bald trees

And the parting song of Black-headed Grosbeak.

/

Roasting soft marshmallows in the golden fire

The snug hug of the rust-orange sweater vest

The anticipation of the icy cold winter

And listening to ‘We fell in love in October’.

/

This is the magic of Autumn

The magic of sweet sweet

Autumn scented October.
