This is a poem about the mistakes I made during my brief time being alive.

Not learning that the greatest love in life comes from within

Believing that art is an inborn talent 

Giving up sports because I didn’t have the time

Not putting down a book that I wasn’t liking

Procrastinating on starting a poetry blog because I believed in perfection

Keeping people in my life who couldn’t respect me for who I am

Not learning the art of saying no 

Perfecting the art of saying yes

Giving people third and fourth chances when history wasn’t by their side

Making 10000 lists that now linger in my desk drawer
