This poem is a love letter to winter and is about things that I only appreciate in winter.
The warm fuzzy socks on my feet.
The golden light of the heater’s heat.
The annual routine of Christmas movies.
These are the things I only appreciate in winter.
Thick melted hot chocolate touching my lips.
My mum’s carrot pudding with pretty little raisins.
The piping hot sarson ka saag with piping hot corn rotis.
Are the things I only appreciate in cold foggy northern winters.
Sleeping till late afternoons and then sleeping some more.
Cuddling with a book and a blanket and mi amor.
Are some more things I only appreciate in the sunless northern winters.
