Dandelions and daisies taught me a lesson on happiness

/

During my journey up the mountain

I came across a field.

It was a carpet of wild dandelions and pretty little daisies.

I stopped there only to eat my lunch,

But the field refused to let me leave.

The peace and quiet it spritzed in the air

Dulled my desire to tick off the boxes

And asked me to breathe.

Just breathe while marveling at the wonder of life and existence.

I never reached the mountain peak.

But I have since then been to that field of dandelions and daisies a thousand times,

To remind myself of the simplicity of happiness

Everytime I get stuck in the loop of self made goals

That I think I need to reach before I am allowed to smile.
