This poem was inspired from the idea that if colours had a taste, what would they taste like. In this particular poem, I talk about what orange tastes like.
/
I wonder what orange tastes like
/
I think it tastes like
The warmth of the first ray of sun
After a long cold winter night.
/
It tastes like the dappling sunlight
Dancing on your poetry
Sending you claps and finger snaps.
/
It tastes like a warm hug
From a long lost friend
Who has always lived in your heart.
/
It is the smile
That appears on her face
When she spots you in a crowd.
/
It is the happiness in your heart
When you write something
That makes you feel alive.
/
I think orange tastes like
What warmth and love and happiness combined taste like.

About the poet: Armaan Rai is a poet who writes about nature, moments and memories, and nostalgia. She uses simple words and phrases to capture the beauty and complexity of the world around her. She believes that poetry is a powerful tool for expressing emotions and connecting with others. She started this blog, Oregano Oranges, as a way of connecting with other poets and readers. She wanted to create a space where she could share her work, learn from others, and get an opportunity to touch someone’s heart.
