A novice poet's magical journey with words

Lies that are not lies (#can’tturntheresearcherbrainoff)

This poem was written for a prompt by @LivInTheLinesPoetry The prompt was ‘Write a lie you told yourself at sunset’

Lies that are not lies (#can’tturntheresearcherbrainoff)

/

Under the sky painted in pinks and purples,

I told myself it’s going to be okay.

Was it a lie told to console myself after being ghosted by my childhood best friend for the third time

Or was it the truth based on an observation which reeks of hindsight bias, questions my inner researcher?
