A novice poet's magical journey with words

Untitled: A poem on modern life

This Untitled (deliberately) poem is about modern life and our stresses in it which don’t allow us to enjoy the moment.

Untitled: A poem

Why is the nightingale singing at 1 AM on a rainy summer night?

Can she too not sleep because she has a presentation in the morning that can get her either promoted or fired?

Or is she too worried about the three day vacation approval that has been pending for six weeks?

Can she also be fed up of talking about her hobbies on every single date she has been to in the last one year?

She could also be mourning the college friendships that have slipped like sand through her fingers over the years, right?

Is it possible that her adulting isn’t adulting anymore (was it ever) and she is too tired to even go back home?

No, that’s not it, right?

The nightingale is probably singing because it is a beautiful summer night without artificial deadlines

And she wants to immerse herself in the symphony of the cool breeze, the smell of the rain and the music of the lush green tree leaves.
