This is a nature poem about stopping to experience the simple things in a world that doesn’t stop. Hope you enjoy it and stop to smell the daisies soon.
Stopping to smell the daisies
When did you last
Walk barefoot on the grass?
When did you smile
At a fluttering pink butterfly?
When did you stop your music
To listen to the pitter patter of the rain?
And when did you sit
To see the sun’s last rays?
/
When did you touch
The soft velvety petals of a daisy?
When did you taste
The sweet sourness of a mango
And I mean, actually taste it.
Do you remember the last time
You sat under the full moon
And wondered about the beauty of
Life and the night sky?
