What do you do when you face a writer’s block? This is the second time I have written a poem about it. So I guess that’s what I do. Enjoy and do send me those magical solutions.
Urgent: Solutions needed for a writer’s block
I have a problem. A massive problem.
I am a poet who got betrayed
By the words that were meant to save
Me. Instead I am marooned
On the island of writer’s block
And bad poems and a poet’s chagrin.
How am I going to tell you
That I cannot (really cannot) do
The one thing that I am supposed to know
How to do with my eyes closed?
Well, in my never-ending quest
For a solution I have tried to
Eat a dictionary for dinner and
A thesaurus for dessert.
I won’t recommend either
Unless it’s a question of survival.
A search on the internet recommended
Black magic. Alas, I don’t know
Where to get a herringbone bracelet
Made by hell’s fire and stardust. Do you?
Word shots, sleeping under the magic stars,
A potion from the witches in the bazaar,
I have tried and tested it all.
Let me tell you it hasn’t worked
In case you have been reading this
While sleeping, bar hopping, shopping,
Talking, chatting, or waiting for that gynae exam.
So this is me asking for help.
Send me your solutions, witchy or otherwise.
Please don’t Google. I have internet access.
Strange. Whacky. Spooky. Bizarre.
As long as it works,
I welcome it all.
Send it at thestrugglingpoetsolutions.com

About the poet:
Armaan Rai is a poet who writes about nature, moments and memories, and nostalgia. She uses simple words and phrases to capture the beauty and complexity of the world around her. She believes that poetry is a powerful tool for expressing emotions and connecting with others.
She started this blog, Oregano Oranges, as a way of connecting with other poets and readers. She wanted to create a space where she could share her work, learn from others, and get an opportunity to touch someone’s heart.
