Has your vacation ever been disrupted by something unpleasant? What was it? How did you get back in the vacation mode?
This is an anti-vacation poem about one such instance and I ended up using books to get back into the vacation mode. Enjoy!
The anti-vacation
The blah blah and blah
Of the politician on the evening show
Spewing hatred, divisiveness and misogyny
Irritates, angers, annoys me
On what was supposed to be
A peaceful and tranquil vacation
In the solitude of the tea gardens
With the fragrance of wet soil
And spicy tea wafting in the air
Accompanied by the chirping of
Tiny birds whose names
I was supposed to learn.
