Spring Has Arrived: A Seasons’ poem

Woo Hoo! ‘Spring has arrived’

Shout the kids

While chasing after pink kites

In the fields of bright yellow daffodils.

The farmers are happy

To have almost reached the finish line

The golden-brown wheat crop

Is almost ripe and ready to say goodbye

To the fields which are once again

Witnessing youngsters running along

The carefully made edges to keep the water in.

The washing line is filled with sweaters

Of all colors and sizes, swaying gently

With the cool evening breeze.

Some are yanked off, others are carefully folded

And then forgotten in trunks and boxes

Until the next winter season.

The spring is here, meri jaan.

Spring is here.
